Appointments with a GP or Practice Nurse are now available in the evenings and weekends for patients registered at this practice, these are called ‘Extended Access’ appointments. We are working with other practices in Bedfordshire to provide these additional appointments to increase access to healthcare at times that are convenient to patients.
When you call to make an appointment we may offer you an ‘Extended Access’ appointment, this appointment could be held at another practice and with a GP or Practice Nurse from another practice. Our reception team will confirm all of the details at the time of booking and if you are registered to receive text message alerts, you will receive a text message to confirm the date, time and location of your appointment.
iCaSH - discreet STI testing
We are now fully mobilised and are able to promote the all new Express Test. This test is a simple STI test that people can complete in the comfort of their own home. Visit the iCaSH page that explains how to access the test (by scanning the code or visiting the iCaSH website). There are a few simple questions for the client to complete and once done, the test pack is discreetly posted the recipients address. The pack will test for chlamydia, gonorrhoea, syphilis, HIV and Hep B & Hep C (dependant on risk factors).
There is a prepaid discreet envelope to post the completed test back, results will be managed by iCaSH and forwarded to the client. The aim of the test is to alleviate face-to-face intervention with pharmacies and GPs.
From 1st August 2018 our service charges have increased
From 1st August 2018 our service charges have increased and a service agreement will need to be completed for any requests. Please see our Services - Non NHS Services for the agreement and charges.
New call answering protocol at reception
From the 4th July when you call the surgery, receptionists will ask you if you wouldn't mind providing them a little about the problem you are calling about. This is simply so they can direct you to the person or service who would be most suitable to help you.
